ANNOUNCEMENT

To our members, (re) insurance intermediaries and those who intend to pursue the profession of (re) insurance intermediary.

We inform you that in order for the person concerned to register as a (re) insurance intermediary there is no specific time limit from the date of certification of his/her knowledge.

In addition, the liable person must submit to the relevant Chamber of Tradesmen the certificates of completion of the seminars attended, at the expiry of the five-year period which concerns the liable person, in order to obtain re-certification on the basis of re-education, while the obliged persons include also those who do not practice but intend to practice the profession of (re) insurance intermediary. These certificates must be aggregated for a minimum duration of 75 hours, as far as possibly evenly distributed between the three cognitive fields (Sections A, B and C) and between the five years, and are not required during the process of renewing the insurance intermediaries’ licenses but by the end of five years.

The beginning of the five-year period was the 12th December 2014 (date of publication of the decision of the Bank of Greece in the Government Gazette) for persons registered in the relevant register before 12/12/2014, either on the basis of acquired rights or on the basis of knowledge certificate. For these persons, the five-year period ends on 11 December 2019. After 12/12/2014, the five-year period begins on the date of the knowledge certificate.
